brac IT has appointed Sharmin Sultan as Chief People & Culture Officer, strengthening its leadership team as the company continues to advance toward its Vision 2030 ambitions.
A seasoned transformation and organizational development leader with more than 20 years of experience, she has driven people strategies that enable business growth, cultural resilience, and organizational effectiveness. At brac IT, she will lead the company’s people agenda with a focus on HR transformation, talent development, employee engagement and branding, governance, and performance-driven culture.
Commenting on her appointment, she remarked, “What excites me most is not only the vision, but the talent present in brac IT. My role is to channel that energy, align it with where Vision 2030 is taking us, and turn that potential into something enduring.”
Previously, she led the HR transformation for one of Bangladesh’s largest steel manufacturing companies as its Chief People Officer. She also served as HR Director at BRAC International, managing HR functions across 11 countries in Africa and Asia. At Robi Axiata, she held senior leadership roles across talent, learning and development, resourcing, and employer branding, where she helped build leadership capability, strengthen succession pipelines, and drive recruitment excellence.

Sharmin led the graduate program at Standard Chartered Bank in Bangladesh, playing a key role in campus engagement, employer branding, and the development of young leadership talent.
An adjunct faculty of Institute of Business Administration (IBA) at University of Dhaka, Sharmin holds a MA in HR Management from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and a BA in Economics from St. Cloud State University. She was recognized as HR Director of the Year 2024 by Bangladesh Brand Forum and Most Innovative Leader in Learning and Development by World HRD Congress in 2018.
