brac IT Welcomes Abid H. Khan FCA as CFO

brac IT has appointed Mohammad Abid Hossain Khan FCA, as Chief Financial Officer, strengthening its leadership team as the company advances toward its Vision 2030 ambitions.

A Fellow Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of post-qualification experience, Abid has built a career around financial discipline at scale, leading capital raising, financial governance, and systems modernization for some of Bangladesh’s most prominent companies.

“What drew me to brac IT is the opportunity to build a foundation that matches the scale of its ambition,” said Abid upon his appointment. “That is exactly the kind of challenge I look forward to.”

Most recently, he served as the Chief Financial Officer of Dhaka Stock Exchange PLC. Prior to that, as Group Deputy Chief Financial Officer & Vice President, he led ShopUp Group’s finance function across four businesses and nine entities.

He directly supported the global ERP rollout at Banglalink Digital Communications, resulting in a radical uplift in resource optimization throughout the organization. Over his career, Abid has also had extensive experience of working with multilateral development finance institutions for capital expansion.

Earlier in his career, Abid held senior finance roles at Grameenphone, leading taxation and fiscal compliance. He delivered five consecutive years of zero tax disallowance and supported its successful IPO – the largest in Bangladesh at the time.

Abid qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2006 under the article-ship of KPMG and became a Fellow Chartered Accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh in 2011. He is also a Fellow member of the Institute of Financial Accountants and the Institute of Public Accountants, UK. He holds a Master of Commerce and a Bachelor of Commerce in accounting, both from the National University of Bangladesh.
